2001 Chevy Monte Carlo Service Engine Soon Light

I have a service engine soon light that is on and checked for codes and no codes and don't really know if it is a service for oil. I changed the oil and nothing in the books let you know why the light is on. The check engine lamp is off. Is there a oil procedure you have to go through to shut the light off?

Try this:

With the engine off, place the key in the run position. Press the gas pedal to the floor 3 times and wait. If it is an oil reset light, it should begin to flash or you may hear a ding. Once that happens, turn the key off and then start the car. The light should be reset.
