My temperature gauge never moves off zero, and the radiator fan is always on. My mileage has gone from 28MPG to around 23MPG, yet I'm still getting heat when I drive it. I can even take the radiator cap off and put my fingers in the antifreeze and it's not that hot. Will changing the thermostat alone solve this problem? Thanks, David

Changing the thermostat would be a good place to start. If your thermostat is stuck open, you can't be getting too much heat either. If your cooling fan runs continually, your engine temp sensor may be bad also.
