The ac works when the connection for the blower motor is wiggled in a certain position. Mechanic said it was melted and he could hard wire it but I didn't want to pay for something that sounds like something I could do. I just wanted to make sure it was as simple as it sounds, cut off the connection clip and just solder same color wires to same color wires?

Yep just that simple, but I would go to Chevy and get a new set of connectors myself, parts counter sels kits.

The dealership told me it would be about $170 to hard wire and if I wanted a new connector it would have to come with a new blower motor or something of that nature. The new blower motor would cost more than the $170 to hard wire, which sounds kind of ridiculous for something an average joe could do. I will talk to the parts people and see if they have it. Thank you again for the info, you were a lot of help.

If they wont help, either do it yourself, or get the connector from one in the junkyard.
