1998 Chevy Monte Carlo Adding 1 Pt. Trans. Fluid to Oil

Have you ever heard of adding a pint of Trans. Fluid to engine oil. Since Trans. Fluid has high amounts of detergent it is supposed to clean the engine a bit. Does this sound alright?

Yes, it can, but automatic transmission fluid is for automatic transmissions. I would advise against this method, it can cause more problems than it solves. There are several additives on the market that I have seen used with success, Rislone is one, Seafoam is another. Not changing your oil and filter on a regular basis is like never brushing your teeth, you can get around it for a while but it eventually catches up with you.
