1997 Chevy Monte Carlo idle high and low

1997 Chevy Monte Carlo Front Wheel Drive Automatic 116000 miles

I have a 1197 Monte Carlo when you start the car car it idles up and down sometimes it shuts off, then you have to re start the car. Now you drive the car so long it shuts of but it starts right back up only to do the same thing. I keep haven the same problem and no one seems to have the answer. Please help engine sive not sure.

Clean out the idle air control valve and see what happens.

Do you tbink its the Mass air flow sensor as well?

Try cleaning it up with an electronic cleaner and see what happens.
