I have found a leak in the brake lines along the rear axle and need help on how to replace the brake line. Is thsi a do it yourself fix or should I let a professional do the work?

You can buy steel line (straight) at any autoparts store.

You would then cut line in front of leak, and unscrew the other end.

You would have to rent an inverted flare tool to create double inverted flares, then buy a union to connect original line to new line, after creating new flares.

Some people use compression fittings to join brake lines, but they are NOT approved to use on brake lines.

There is an store on internet called inlinetube. Com that sells complete steel or stainless replacement sets.
