When I take off from a stop sign, or stop light and I hit tha gas hard, instead of it taking off like its suppose to do it kinda stalls for a second and then picks up speed. I would think if I hit the gas real hard with the new carburetor I bought, I would think that the tires will burn out a lil, but instead it stalls then picks up speed. People tell me that its the timing is off. What do u think seems to be the problem? And can u tell me why I get such poor gas milage

Lack of acceleration, chugging, hesitating, jerking, bogging, misfiring etc. Could be caused by one of the following below

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Crankshaft position sensor
Knock sensor
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard it
