OK if you would include a pic of the carb so I can see what model of carb you have and on the under hood sticker does it say federal or california emissions? Get back to me and we will take it from there.

Hello, if you bop the throttle, does it idle down? Look at the fast idle cam, what step?

The autozone site has specs for carb adjustments. You register your vehicle, then click on repair info.

Did the link I posted not work? That site has all kinds of carb specs for different carbs. You can probably read those specs faster than I can type. The fast idle cam should be on the same side of carb as the choke. They usually have a model number somewhere on the carb, what is the number?

Hey thanks for the reply got on auto zone but to no avail no help they only thing I could think it might be is the idle control solenoid and I donot know where it is either on the passenger side of the carb is the choke assy with a smaller round piece in front of it and has linkage running to the choke could this be it? I could not get on the other site for some reason someone told me it is a vacuum leak checked everything everywhere no luck does the air cleaner need to be in place it has a vacuum also running to the carb advise

If you could give us the model number off the carb, it would help. At the az site, you need to register, then you can get to the repair info.

I have seen issues where if the heater or ac was on, the vehicle would not idle down. The idle speed solenoid, where applicable, should be on the driver side of carb, same side as throttle linkage. You could look for an idle speed screw, see if the throttle linkage is touching the screw.
