1973 Chevy Monte Carlo Alterations for ammeter

Hello, nice picture. My info showed the alternator charge wire goes to the bat terminal at the starter solenoid, red wire. Take it loose, run that wire to the positive side of ammeter, run another wire from the negative ammeter terminal back to the same connector at the starter solenoid. Your wiring the ammeter in series on that circuit. Both wires need to be 10 gage or larger. As far as the size wire you use, some info says to use wire rated 10 amps higher than the max output for your alternator.

My bad, I was thinking about a single ammeter gage. Maybe some of the others will have a reply. Goodluck
