I need new front brakes on my 98 chevey malibu. I being a girl asked my dad to do it. He said no problem hes been fixing my cars since I started driving. Anyway he couldn't get the caliper off to change the pads. How do you do this? I gotta get these fixed asap.

First get a c-clamp and compress the caliper with it still bolted on then unbolt it and it should come right off. There is a knob on the brake pad that goings into the piston of the caliper and since the caliper is right up against the brake pad the knob is holding u up.
