When I drive my car the brake lights on the back stay on. When I am stopped they go off. I had a new cruise control switch put in but did not help. What do you think it could be?

Have you checked the brake light switch on the pedal?

No I have not tried a brake switch. But I will tell my mechanic about it. I have tried the cruise control switch that is on the pedal. Are these two parts 2 different pieces all together. Or one in the same. Thank you for your response earlier.
