2006 Chevy Malibu KEY LESS REMOTE

My keyless remote went out I guess and the horn will honk and the trunk will open with the keyless but the doors won't lock and unlock. I have changed the battery. What could be the problem now?

Hi LTompkins,
I had the same problem with my '04 Malibu keyless remote with remote start. I tried everything from cleaning it, to new batteries. But I couldn't understand why the lock and remote functions were the only ones which weren't working. After a couple months I gave in to buying a new rubber key pad for the remote,
