2003 Chevy Malibu NO FIRE

I got the check engine light, and after driving it about 60 miles it totally stopped. I had Autozone store check it with their hand held machine and it said it was a EGR problem so I replace that and the check engine light still stayed on. Then like I said, it now will not start at all. Could you maybe give me some ideas? It is a 2003 Chevy Malibu with a V-6

There is a air passageway that goes into the throttlebody that probably is plugged is my guess for the egr code.

What code is in there now?

This may not be the source of the no start however.

How old are the plugs and fuel filter? IF these are old they may have caused a problem deeper in.
