2003 Chevy Malibu Code

I went to AutoZone cause my check engine light went on. The code that came up was p18915
Transmission neutral safety switch circuit failure.

What does this mean?

Hello

This indicates that your Park/Neutral Safety Switch is faulty. This switch is a safety feature which prevents the vehicle from starting unless the transmission is in the Park or Neutral gear. It is not a major repair at all and it is not going to harm your transmission so don't worry about a hefty tranny repair bill ;)
