2003 Chevy Malibu car not switching gears

My car works in reverse and drive gears, but third and 4th gear are not kicking in. Does the 2003 malibu have a dipstick for the transmission fluid? I heard someone thought they started making vehicles w/o the dipstick in like 2006. I just started acting up a couple of weeks ago when a plow ran into our parked car in parking lot of husbands work. It was on the drivers side front by the tire.
