2002 Chevy Malibu could I need transmission fluid

My 2002 malibu has had some trouble going up hills. It has some trouble accelerating at times. My check engine light has been on for a couple of days.

Take it to your local auto parts store or repair shop. Most will check out the check engine light for no charge. The light is on for a reason and you need to know what needs repair.
