My car catches like it wants to start but immediately quits firing. The vehicle Anti-theth light is on.
It has done this at least 3 other times but eventually starts and runs for months before it would reoccurs.

What does the anti theth monitors. How can it be defeated?

Sounds like you need a new pass lock sensor. It islocatd in the ignition switch. I wouldnt try to bypass it. But if you need to get it to a dealer, turn the key off for thirty seconds, try to crank it real quick and watch the security light blink. When it stops blinking (10-30 minutes) turn the key off and try to restart it. Then drive it to the dealer. If that doesnt work you will need to get it towed

Try disconnecting the battery (+). That should erase anti-theft and enable you to start the car. Happend in my "99 Olds and that's how I fix it
