My car is having trouble starting at times, one day it turns on without a problem, and other times it doesnt, I get the battery boosted and it starts, but it takes a little while to start I basically have to hold my key down for a while before it starts, one person is telling me its my battery and others are telling me its my altenator. Now I want to know how do I check to see if its my battery or my altenator thats causing my car not to start.

HI there, Have the battery load tested, this is the only true way of testing a battery, have the alternator charge rate checked and get the starter checked for a fault, I would be thinking more a starter fault, start here.
