2000 Chevy Malibu Huge problem with 2000 Chevy Malibu, help

The "service vehicle soon" light of my 2000 chevy malibu came on about 4 times since the first time about 2 weeks ago. Tonight, we I try to turn on the car, big problem happened: The fuel gage doesn't work, the instrument panel light doesn't work and the highlight doesn't work either. After I tried to ignite the car again, the "engine" light came. What's the problem? Thanks

I am no mechanic, that understood, I can say that more information is needed. Does your car stall out? And stuff like that.I would say to check your fuses and your main fuses, or try to reset your computer, first off I would disconect your battery supply for a few minutes and that might take care of it. I had a dead battey and replaced it and my fuel gauge swung all the way backward, had to get a bread twisty and swing it back around then reset the battery. Check the basics first the powersource may be the problem. Good luck friend
