service engine soon light came on..after that (at dusk) I noticed my headlights had to be turned on manually.(usually are on automatically)(DRL?)..by turning light switch on column all the way on.(towards the front)

The first thing to do is have your computer scanned for codes. AutoZone or any other major parts store will do this for free.

Once you get the codes, write back and I'll help you from there.
