My vehicle was diagnosed needing a intake gasket
the dealer estimated a cost 1244; this is alot of money; my question; if I should replace the gasket; should I replace the whole gasket just in case something else should go wrong; I want to save some money; what do you suggest would be the best alternative place to take my car too; and should I have the whole gasket repaired;

please respond; thank you

This is a common problem. The intake gasket is put on as a set and usually the valve cover gasekts are replaced at the same time. You may try an independent mechanic to see if it's cheaper. It is mostly a labor intensive thing.
