In the last year I have had to replace the catalyic converter twice. What would cause it to plug up?
Can I get a test pipe to run the car while it is being tested to find the cause?

As far as the test pipe, you need to find out what the local laws are in your area.

Now for the converter, has the check engine light been coming on? Also, with 200K on the engine, it could be allowing unburned fuel (due to compression) to enter the converter.

Let me know about the light.
