On my lumina I have noticed that my driver's side brake light was not coming on. Running lights are fine but when I disassembled the light I noticed the lower filament was not lighting and when I checked with a meter the appropriate contact was not showing any voltage. I am not familiar with the electrical system and would like some help as to where I can check next. I would like to correct the problem without bringing it to a mechanic. Thanks

Hello, at that socket, the brown wire is for taillites, the yellow is for stop and turn, they use the same bulb filament, just not at the same time. If the left turn lites work, you know the circuits at the bulb socket are ok. With the turn switch in neutral, if you step on the brake, that yellow wire should be hot, if it isn't, you may have to backtrack to the turn switch.
