What would cause a chevy lumina van to stop going into gear while it was running?

Hi there,

If it is selecting the gear, but not driving, there is a good chance that it is a pump pressure problem, The selector may have failed, seized valve in the vale body, little or no oil in transmission. A pressure test will show up any hydraulic faults.
