1996 Chevy Lumina my car smells like gas when I start it

I just bought my car last week, and I have only put 100 miles on it, now when I start it, it smells like gas.
and there isnt any leaks that Iam aware of.
Also it only smells when I start it, not driving it, and not when I park it. I havent seen or noticed any leaks on the ground either, Thats weird, cause it was smogged too. Do things like this just happen with in a weeks time, and after smogging, and driving it less then 150, miles, DANG! I'm kinda hurt now that this person sold me a 3,000 dallor car, and it could catch on fire, there goes my freaking money! Please Help. Thanks. Trisha7025

No. None came on. But now I dont smell any gas,
isnt that wierd? But I have been keeping a eye on it everyday since :), and thank you for the fast reply back. I will be sure to let you know if things happen more to the car trust me. Trisha7025
