1996 Chevy Lumina Blower and Heat distribution

When I turn my heater and blower on it sounds like the heater is blocked some how. When I turn the knob to cool then the air flow is greater. Someone told me it could be my heater core is blocked. I am not sure.

welcome, I can't rule out the heater core,but, I'd want to be sure the temperature valves are working correctly. Not sure if you can read the diagram below?
