How do I remove the socket holding one of the top brake lights from its holder in the rear window? I removed the cover, but the socket doesn't twist off or pull of. It looks like it is held in place by plastic tabls top and bottom, but gently prying doesn't seem to help either. Does this require a special tool?

Are you accessing them through the trunk or trying to from the interior? Also, they should twist out.

I'm accessing them from the interior. The center brake light is located at the top of the rear window, and is not accessiible from the trunk. Twisting them out doesn't seem to work.
