Brought it in, they said it might be the vehicle speed sensor, which is a 50 dollar part. But I was also told that when the light comes on in certain cars the spedometer would stop so you'd bring it in to get checked. So don't know if spending the 50 is worth it?

Chances are they are correct. If you want, take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer for codes. The code will identify where the problem is coming from. If they say it's a code for the VSS, they you'll know for sure. Also, most parts stored will scan it for free.

Let me know what they tell you.

Well my dad bought a vss, and whenever I bring it in to get checked they don't have the plug in because my cars so old. So i'll just have to bring it in somewhere else! Hoping after the vss is replaced it runs good!

Let me know if it works. Also, I believe a 93 doesn't need a regular scanner. THere should be a female plug under or near the steering wheel section of the dash. If I remember correctly, you just jump two of the connections to have the check engine light flash. Then you count the number of flashes to determine the code. Ask your mechanic about that.
