There is a small water coolant leak in this car that I am interested in purchasing. Is this something serious? I don't want to purchase a car that will cost me tons of money to fix. Thank you for your help.

Where is the leak?
Depending on where it is or what it is, it will impact the final bill.

Also, if this car overheated before, I would honestly look for a different one. You can't be sure of what kind of internal engine damage may have resulted (like a blown head gasket for instance).
