Engine Performance problem
1991 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1991 chevy lumina z-34 3.4L v6 with what we have narrowed down to be a possilbe bad crank sensor. I pulled the sensor out and took it to my local chevy dealer but they were unable to match it. The one they have is longer and thinner in diameter. I gave them the last eight of vin number to help. They said it was an x motor but they cant figure out why that my sensor is shorter and fatter than the on they have. They said the sensor they have is good from 91 to 97 ! Does anybody have any ideas. Thanks jeff

Try partstrain. Com or have pepboys/autozone order it for you.

Hi dnaproracing it turned out to be the speed sensor that I pulled which completely stumped voss chevrolet ! Could you tell me where the crank sensor is located on this beast and the best way to get to it. I am not the best mechanic in the world just trying to help my daughter same money instead of big money dealerships thanks jeff
