Low Engine Temp

I had to replace a bad thermostat housing on my 1987 Ford Ranger with a 2.3 4 cyl. Engine.
I didn't replace the thermostat because it was working ok. Now, I can't get the engine temp up to the proper operating temp. It has a 195 deg. Thermostat.
Any suggestions?

Maybe your fan clutch is stuck engauged, or the thermostat is hung open.

When replaceing the housing you may have gotten a piece of debrie in the thermostat holding it open. Rule of thumb a thermostat is cheap insurance, any time your in the nieborhood replace it.
