Shakes or Wobbles problem
2006 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 55250k miles

I have taken my car to the dealer 3 times with the complaint that while driving on smooth roads there is a "tremble" and vibration that makes you feel that you are bouncing up and down really fast. I was told that it is because the new body type has so little flexibility that every road vibration is felt, and thus the tremble sensation while driving and that there is no solution as it is a characteristic of the car. I personally think that this is a crock! The car warranty expires in May of 2009 and I want to make sure that there is nothing seriously wrong. The alignment has been checked and the tires have been changed but the sensation still exists. Any ideas? I would appreciate any input.
Thanks Bill

Hi Bill,

Well, I just spent the last hour searching through the TSB (Technical Services Bulletins) and all I can find is info concerning the tires and the Polypropylene Energy Absorbors.

On the Tires are they factory or are they aftermarket and oversized. If aftermarker and oversized that could be your problem. Check your tire pressure and try dropping a couple PSI and see what happens.

The Polypropylene Energy Absorbors (cushens between the body and the frame) check them and make sure they are not damaged.

Hope this has helped.
