Heater problem
2005 Chevy Impala 6 cyl 80,000 miles

At low idle, my heat seems to quit.
The fan is still operating and all my fluid levels are ok.
The dealer says that my intake manifold is leaking oil, and that could be my problem. The cost to repair is
$1,000. Can the intake manifold have an effect on my heating system?
Do you
have the same problem?

If your intake manifold is leaking, your coolant level should not be okay; it should be low. Chevrolet has had a lot of problems with leaky manifold on certain models/years; so your dealer could be right. However, if I were you, I'd go to a different shop and ask them to check your thermostat. If it's stuck open, it results in your car taking longer to reach normal operating temperature (may not reach normal temp at all actually), and low to no heat out of the vent when the car is at idle.
