Hello, I just bought a 2002 Chevy Impala, with just over 149,000K on in. Everything is in tip top shape, runs smooth so far, steering feels good, but when I looked under the car there was a loose wire that was hanging down from under where the motor sits. Its a thick coil wire that looks like it was cut in half and the other half of the wire is just hanging down about 2 inches from the ground not connected to anything, what could it be?

It looks like the plastic covering for the oil level sensor on the side of the oil pan.

Ok, thank you. Is this a major problem? Should I get this fixed asap? Or atleast keep it from hanging down?
