Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 105550 miles

The automovtive body shop said I need to replace the Oil-Pan Gasket and they are charging me 468.00 for a new oil-pan gasket. I was wondering if I dont change my oil-pan gasket, what will happen to my car?

Eventually the gasket will break down so much so that it will allow engine oil to leak out. If too much engine oil leaks out and you don't notice it to replace the oil, there can be severe internal engine failure due to lack of lubrication.

How much do a oil pan gasket cost?
I went to the auto shop. And they gave me an estimate of 78.26(parts) and 346.00 (labor).
