At times when pushing down on the gas pedal the car will act like its out of gas. After 300' feet it will take off like normal. I checked the press with a guage and found that wit key on, not running the press 46 and goes up to 51 slow and stops. Ar idle it reads 44. After off for 1 hr. It goes down to 7. Is it a bad regulator or fuel pump? Its a 3.8 v6 eng.
Thanks

Hello, my info shows key on engine off fuel pressure, 53-59. Idle-43-56. What does the pressure gage do if you quickly open and close the throttle? If the pressure drops more than 2 psi, there is a supply side problem, filter--pump--clogged fuel line?

You might pull the vac line off the regulator, see if there is any gas in the line. With the vac line off and engine idling, I believe the pressure should go up a little?

I believe the pump manufacturer will give you a bleed-off spec. That bleed-off spec sounds too fast to me?
