Engine Performance problem
2001 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Automatic 148k miles

My 2001 Impala w/ 148k miles started (4 days ago) having trouble starting (not starter or alternator). Crank Crank Crank give lots of gas - feels like car cannot breath. No engine codes at this time.

Go to parts store replace valve idle air control motor and add a can of Sea Foam to gas tank.

NO CHANGES - but check engine light does come on
1- ERG code and 1- 2 Random/Multiple Cylinder.

took car to shop today had all 6 spark plugs and wires replaced, fuel system 3-part service,

NO CHANGE (ok for one minute better - check engine light went out BUT it came back on with same issues). Stalling out, turn corner - car quits HOWEVER when driving straight no issues

THEN replaces PVC valve and coil blocks or whatever the coil things are.

NO CHANGE - now they think it needs a very expensive VALVE JOB (to be honest they do not do this work so it is not benefiting them)

I've heard a valve job is $2500

How will I know this will fix the problem?
Have you heard of this before on Impala?
Would you do it or trade?

just had different $1,000.00 work done to car (tie rods, brakes, etc.)

Are you sure you have gas in the tank. It is common for the fuel level sensor to go bad and not know how much gas is in the tank. The reason I ask you say its ok straight but acts up when turning corners. It may be low on gas
