Make sure gas cap is tightened at least 3 click after filling you will need a scanner to shut it off. Autoparts do for free.

Engine Mechanical problem
2001 Chevy Impala V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 107000 miles

Hello, my engine light has been on forever. No shop can find the problem. Around six months ago I replaced the mass air flow, fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, pcv valve. The car was fine. The light was reset and it stays on. The past few weeks my car will not shift out of gear by itself unless I let off the gas and give it gas again. If I don't let off the gas, the car stays in first gear bringing the speed up to 60 km per hour, 4000 rpm. When this happens the engine liight flashes. Is that a misfire problem? Please help.

Check engine light coming On

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on

Lean fuel condition could be caused by one of the following below:

1. Vacuum leaks
2. EGR and PCV valve.
3. Low fuel pressure.
4. Dirty fuel injectors.
5. Mass Air Flow Sensor.
6. Oxygen Sensor.

Electrical problem
2001 Chevy Impala 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 68,000 miles

My car lights turn on at night, the door locks click but don't work anymore, sometimes the blinkers work & sometimes not, the radio locks out, the interior lights come on and flicker, the trunk opens itself. Service engine soon/ security/ change engine oil/ the battery logo all appear and flash on & off. The battery will not take a jump (it is 2 mos. Old)
Then without reason it runs and all is well just fine until you turn it off and go into the store for 5 mins. When you come back out- it will not take a jump or if it did take a jump, everything is flickering and the head lights and brights are on good - then dim.
My car is crazy!

Sounds like you have an intermittently electrical problem. Being that so may things go haywire at random. I would start by checking all the vehicles ground connections. From the battey follow cables to there locations and insure they are tightly connected. Was any work done to the vehicle before this happen?
