Yes the check engine is on. Since posting this question I have had diagnostics ran and the result was intake manifold gasket gone bad. Manifold itself is intact and good but still an expensive fix. Firestone auto quoted 780.00 to fix. I have since taken the car by trailer to an independent shop owned by a friend and will have it fixed tomorow for a low 300.00! Wow! Still a big chunk of change. Fortunatley the only other thing that showed on the diagnostic test was plugs and plug wires that are being changed out as well.
