Engine Mechanical problem
2005 Chevy Express V8 Two Wheel Drive 460, 00 miles

I know 460K miles is very high, but i'm not ready to rebuild or replace engine yet.
Just curious to know if there is any kind of oil or additive that might help temporarily.
thanks, T

I had a clacking lifter. I was advised to use Valvoline racing oil 20-50 weight to quiet the lifter. Three days after changing the oil, the lifter quit clicking. When the clicking returns, I change the oil. Been 2 years now, van running fine. I live in Florida, so not worried about cold starts. Check with a mechanic if you have "winter" weather. Far as I know, Racing oil only comes in heavy weights. Could cause problems in cold weather, so ak first. Good luck.
