I wanted to know if a bad knock sensor will cause the engine to make knocking sound. The engine countinuously knocks when vehicle is in any gear. There is no water in the oil. The temperature is good. It drives, starts up fine-there are no other indications that the engine is no good. The oil pressure is a bit low-wondering if the oil pump could be no good-would that cause the engine to knock. Trying to keep expense down. Van is used for work-driven a lot of miles. Does normal on fuel consumption as well. Any info would be helpful. Thank-you

If the oil pressure is low than that is most likely the cause of the engine knock. The oil pump could be weak and not pumping enough oil pressure. Knock sensor would not cause low oil pressure.
