I drove from Kansas to north central New Mexico and then into Colorado - through Pagosa Springs and over to I25 and north to Denver. It was raining when through Denver. Driving at 55 MPH the van died. I pulled over and it started up but ran rough. It died again within a couple of miles so I pulled over and let it cool for 15 minutes. Got it started, drove to Fort Collins even though it ran rough and died a couple of more times. Let it sit over night, got up and drove it to Wichita Kansas without any problem. Never had the problem again until driving from Wichita Kansas through Oklahoma to New Mexico. I was driving the highway at 60-65 MPH when the engines dies. We were about 75 miles from NM border. I could restart and drive another minute or so but it die again. I would pull over and let it cool for 15 minutes. It would start and run a few miles and then die. I finally made it to our night stop in NM. Got up and drove it through Taos and central NM and did not have a problem the rest of the trip including all the way back to Kansas.

It seems it needs a day to get use to an altitude change.

You may want to have your crank and cam position sensors tested for faultines sounds like thats whats going on with the car shutting down while driving and then letting it cool then it starts back up. Have that checked and then get back to us. And remember your engine light does not have to be on for this to happen
