2001 Chevy Express

My van would not start. I jumped it and it was fine. I got to my destination and turned the van off. When I tried to start it again, no go. Not even a click. Got it jumped again and it would start but died after I let my foot off the gas. It did this several times. I got out and messed with the battery cables and it stayed on. I got back home and shut the car off, then no charge again. No recharge. Nothing electrical would work (car locks, etc.) When the car was off. What should I check?

Is it possible the new battery is dead? Has the charging system been tested yet? Is there a key off draw that exceeds the manufacturers limits?

OK
new battery?
Recheck the battery new or old

for the engine to start on a jump and run until u shut it off
it will tell me that the alternator is putting out some at least to maintain the engine running
SO u need to check battery terminals
remove and check for corrosion
check the side with the two cables under one bolt
