Electrical problem
2000 Chevy Express V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 140k miles

Hello Guy's, I bought this van a year ago and just hooked a trailer up to it. The plug was bad so I replaced it, still didn't work.I traced wire up through door looking for the 'T' and found somthing quite different. Another plug about2"x1" It looks like an add on to lower the voltage? Nothing in the oners manual about anything but a 't'. Any Ideas? Do you need more info? Thank You, jim

It sounds as if someone has been playing with the harness. There should be a place to put a trailer connector on the left rear o fhte truck. It should only be an adapter to plug right into the harness. If you taillights work then your trailer should as well unless your ground tot he trailer is bad. If the "T" doesn't go anywhere then just repair the harness there. The "T" may have been for a trailer box to apply the brakes and brake lights at the same time. Also look for corrosion around the plug in as that may be the problem as well.
