2005 Chevy Equinox EVAP System error during none purge cond

Im getting and P0496 check engine code on a 05 chevy equinox I replace the gas cap last time it did this and it went a way. So I did the same them and everytime I earse the code about a week later the light come back on with the same code. What could be the problem?

You have a EVAP code for a small leak. It could be the cap, but rarely do they go bad. What I suggest is this. Take the car to the shop and have the "Fog" the system. What they will do is actually pressurize (like 1 PSI) the evap system with a fog. Where the leak is, the fog will leak out. That is the easiest way to find it. Otherwise, you could be looking for a year and still not find it.
