my vette recently died on me, the battery was goin out and then yes I had to jump it off. I figured maybe I left something on and if I drove it and left it running the alternator would charge it up. Wrong. The next day I was running late from work so I got it to start but then ran completely out of gas not remembering to shut it off. Now my car (after I re-fueled with 87 octane, which came by my stupidity of letting someone else go get me gas) will not let me rev the gas, and gives me alot of different messages, what should I do?

Change the fuel filter, with running it out of gas could have picked up some stuff in the tank, then take it to a auto parts store and have the altinator checked for output, they can do it while it is on the car. Diconnect the battery and let it sit for 10 minutes, reconnect the battery and drive the car for a while, on newer cars the computer will not reset itself until drive between 30 and 50 miles.
