My car is a 1996 corsica 3100 v-6. When you put the car in gear it wont move only rocking the car back and forth will get the car to go into gear then after a while it locks up again. It is not low on fluid we put fluid thinking it was the problem please help!

You might check your Floor shift control cable which connects to the starter safety switch. It put the tranny into the gears. You may have a bad Switch its on top uf the tranny above the tranny filter and pan. Or check the colum shifter or floor shifter. Hope that helps.
