Engine Performance problem
1994 Chevy Corsica 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive

The idle is too hugh.

How do I et it to mkae it lower?

I turned the throttle screw way in and it still stays up.

The check engine light comes on after a few minuites runnig.

I suspect a oxygen sensor.

Sonds like you have a realy big vacuum leak or a stuck IAC (Idle Air Controler). Open the hood with the car running and listen for a loud hissing noise. Try that first and get back to me.

Don`t hear that sound.I know the sound cuz I`ve had it before in other cars.

Also sounds like a dentists thingy they put in your mouth to remove to saliva, only not quite as loud.

This is a leaking intake gasket or the vacum line right underneath the back of the intake plume. It is very prone to rotting or severly cracking in which case it will cause it to idle high.

I fixed it.

It was the vacuum line running overtop of the carb under the metal bracket holding the throttle cables/.

It goes to the PCV valve.

It was the grommet in the hole and you cannot buy just that, you have to get the whole line which costs about 40.00!

Thanks for all your help
