Transmission problem
1994 Chevy Cavalier Front Wheel Drive Automatic

After driving smooth for about 30 mins, when I slow down to stop it shakes and stalls out. When I restart it, it runs smooth in park and neutral but shakes and shuts off again when put in gear. It can sit for about 30 mins and will restart and run smooth again for another 30 mins or so and then repeats above. I just bought this can and am now flat broke so any advice will be greatly appreciated! Suzy

Best thing to do is to check for a engine code. If you go to the ALDL and cross A & B with a paperclip and count the flashes 1 + 2 equals 12 they will flash 3 times. You can go to the site here an dlook under OBD 1 and findout what the code is. If it only shows 12 then that means everything is ok sensor wise. IT could be a spark plug/wire issue If you can take those out and look to see if it has agood gap- like.045" then you should be ok with those. But you could have low compression. If there is something stuck in the spark plug that would cause what you are experiencing.
