1989 Chevy Celebrity Stalling In Reverse

My car has been running great but one day I drove it for a good 2 hours straight and I was sitting in a parking lot with my car idleing then when I put it in reverse it chuged out and stalled I started it and drove home and when I went to back inot my drive way it stalled again since then it has been working in reverse. I think I had something to do with how hot the engine got.

Clean out the Idle Air Control valve and port in the throttle body.
Disconnect the negative battery cable before doing this.
With the IAC installed, jump terminals A and B of the ALDL. You should hear the IAC "buzzing", this noise is the IAC going to the fully closed position, if you do not hear this, the IAC should be replaced.
